Dante Camacho - Volunteer Trainer PDF Print E-mail

Hi, my name is Dante Camacho and I have been involved with dog training for the last 12 years. It all started when I took and obedience class with my Lab (Sig) and realized how much fun it would be to be able to actually communicate with my dog in a way he could understand.

Not long after that, we were introduced to agility but due to hip problems Sig wasn’t able to jump. That’s when my Scottish Terrier (Yaya) came into my life and showed me that despite of your size, agility is always a lot of fun.

We started competing and I got more and more involved with dog training, took several seminars and ended up getting 3 other dogs (Smeagal, Cuica and Meesch), all of which compete in agility.  My dogs have taken me to compete in Brazil, Peru, Canada, Switzerland, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.

We came to Canada for the first time in 2006 to compete in the Alberta Regionals Agility Championships.

In 2007 we returned and were invited to be part of the Stampede Superdog Show, it was amazing to be part of such an incredible event, never had I felt so much joy playing with my dogs.  We have been in several Superdog Shows since.

My love for training also took me to discover other dog sports, today I train and compete in Rally–O (obedience) , Flyball and Freestyle (dancing with your dog).
